2) Sharing information with the schools they represent,
3) Fairly representing the views of their communities during the process,
4) Evaluating staff-developed options,
5) Making a recommendation to the Board of Education.
Committee Meetings
The Boundary Advisory Committee will meet in the months of October, November, January and February. The committee members will determine what dates and times work for their schedules.
Public Information Meetings
Liberty Public School District staff members and Boundary Advisory Committee members will conduct one public information meeting for the community in January 2009. This meeting is intended to provide information on why a boundary change process is needed, how it will be conducted, data and enrollment trends, options, and the timeline for decision-making by the Board of Education. A Q&A session will be part of the agenda. Patrons will also have several opportunities to address the board and staff at monthly board meetings.
Board of Education Process
Following the Public Information Meeting, the committee will meet to discuss the information gathered from the public information meeting, emails and written comments. The committee will make a recommendation and present it to the Board. The Board will take action on the boundary changes at its February 2009 regular meeting. The boundary changes will be implemented during the 2009-2010 school year.
