4th Annual Minority Focus Dinner set for Nov. 11
November 9th, 2011Minority parents and students in the Liberty Public School District is cordially invited to our 4th Annual Minority Focus Dinner to be held on Friday, November 11, 2011 from 6:00 pm to 8:30 pm at Liberty North High School, 1000 NE 104th St., Liberty, MO. This special evening is designed to present and share information regarding the academic state of minority students and support programs available to minority students in LPS. We are excited about having you as our guest for the evening and, as usual, dinner will be provided by our Culinary Arts students. This year, break-out sessions will be available to students and parents on relevant topics including college planning and safe technology. Parents and students that RSVP will receive a Liberty North Eagles or Liberty Blue Jays t-shirt.
Cover Contest for Creative Writing Publication
November 9th, 2011The Creative Writing Club is holding a Cover Contest for our first publication. One winner will receive $50 and will have his or her artwork on the cover of our publication. For submission criteria, pick up a submission form in Room 608, or email Mrs. Hartman.

One Homeless Night set for Nov. 11
November 9th, 2011The One Homeless Night event sponsored by Serteens is this Friday night, Nov. 11, for people that turned in their registration form. Check-in is at 8pm. Bring your donations and donation form. Drive around and park in the back parking lot. Remember to bring your cardboard box to sleep in, enough clothes to stay warm, and 4 items of your choice. Suggestions include pillow, blanket, tarp, chair, flashlight, toothbrush. No electronics, no food, no utensils. See Mrs. Hertzog or Mrs. Langford if you have any questions.
FCCLA selling Thankful Thoughts; sets meeting
November 9th, 2011Beginning Monday, Nov. 14, FCCLA will be selling Thankful Thoughts at lunch and before school. This is a chance for you to write a note to a friend or staff member telling them you are thankful for them or something they have done. They will be $1 a bag. They will be delivered Tuesday, Nov. 22nd. Please stop by at lunch! Also, FCCLA’s next meeting is November 29th at 7:45AM in room 102. Please join us!

November 9th, 20111. Attention Juniors: If you are interested in attending one of the Career Centers next year, representatives will be here during Advisory on November 16th and 17th. If you would like to attend one or both of these meetings, you will need to sign up in the Counseling Office by November 14th. All sophomores will view the presentations in their Advisory classes on those days.
2. Education Majors Visit Day at MCC-Maple Woods on November 30th from 10:00am-1:00pm. Learn more about the MCC-Maple Woods’ Education program and the Associate of Arts in Teaching degree. Meet our Education Program Coordinator, discover the benefits of a career in Education, learn how the degree transfers seamlessly to four-year schools, and meet with current students in the program. 3. Students interested in attending the United States Naval Academy are invited to attend an Information Night on Tuesday, November 22 at 5:00pm at the National World War I Museum.
