Akright and Young recognized
At the Liberty School Board of Education meeting held on Monday, March 15, 2010, longtime Board of Education members Jeff Akright and Bob Young were recognized for their years of service on the LPS Board of Education.
Both members' terms are coming to an end in April and their seats will be replaced by winners in the upcoming election.
Akright has served on the Liberty Public Schools Board of Education since 2001 while Young has served since 2004. Both have been a part of the incredible growth within Liberty Public Schools with seven new schools and six building additions having occurred since 2001.
"Bob Young and Jeff Akright have served the district well by volunteering countless hours for the sake of students," said LPS Superintendent Mike Brewer. "They worked diligently in helping manage growth during a time of rapid change while also maintaining high student achievement. I greatly appreciate all Bob and Jeff have done for our school district."
