Blood Drive Huge Success
On February 11, 2010 Liberty High School Biology Teacher Rick Knowles and his amazing group of high school students led the 34th Annual Blood Drive at LHS. And has been the case in recent years, the event only became bigger and better. This year 503 students, faculty, and community members came out to donate blood with 325 of the participants first time donors. There were 388 units of blood raised, which was a single-day record for both Missouri and Kansas. And on the subject of Missouri and Kansas, the blood drive this year at LHS raised more blood than both MU or KU campuses!
At the School Board of Education Meeting held on Monday, March 15, Mr. Knowles and his two student co-chairs Haley White and Andrew Allee were recognized to begin the meeting as part of "Honoring Excellence".
Congratulations to Rick and his students on another job well done!
