This issue, if passed, would include the following construction projects:

Construct Elementary School #11 to relieve elementary overcrowding. Cost of this project is estimated to be $14.3 million.

Construction of additional classroom space at Liberty High School. Construction would include new science classroom labs and remodeling of existing science labs. This addition would allow 9th graders in LPS to move to the high school, beginning in 2014. Moving 9th graders to the high schools would free up the necessary space at the middle school level. Cost of this project is estimated to be $4 million.

Phase III construction at Liberty North High School. Construction will include general classrooms and science labs totaling approximately 71,000 square feet in addition to a track and practice field. This construction would complete LNHS. Cost of this project is estimated to be $18.5 million.

Construction of a multi-purpose district stadium to be located at Liberty High School. Project to include replacement of existing grass football field with a synthetic surface, installation of bleachers, construction of locker room/concession facility, and replacement of existing track. Cost of this project is estimated to be $4.2 million.

"If approved, this would allow construction of needed facilities and classrooms, taking our district through 2017, at which time we would have the bonding capacity to build additional schools to accomodate continued growth," said LPS Superintendent Mike Brewer. "This plan also allows the district to reduce and eliminate modular units, relieve overcrowding at the elementary and middle school levels, and implement a feeder system that increases continuity and communication for our students and their families".

More details on this ballot issue will be provided in the coming days and weeks leading up to election day on November 8, 2011.
