When comparing Liberty to other school districts in the state with student populations of 1,000 or more:

·         Liberty finished #12 in the state in Communications Arts (grades 3-8 and secondary end of course exams in Communications Arts II)
·         Liberty finished #6 in the state in Mathematics (grades 3-8 and secondary end of course exams in Algebra 1)
·         Students made gains in Science in grades 5, 8 and secondary end of course exams in Biology
The Liberty School District scores continue to be above the state average. We will continue to see improvement across the district as plans are put into place to help students who are not scoring at high levels on the tests. Parents will receive information about their child’s individual scores next week. Review the complete 2009 MAP report by clicking on the link below.

The number of students taking the ACT test increased by 60 students last year, and 79.7 percent of the students at LHS took the exam. For the second year in a row, Liberty’s composite score of 22.6 remained the same, but still continues to be above the state average of 21.6, and the national average of 21.1.

The ACT is a national college admission and placement examination consisting of curriculum-based tests in the areas of English, mathematics, reading and science.
