Weakley/Cunningham named new building principals
At the regular Liberty Public Schools Board of Education Meeting on Monday, April 19, it was approved that current LPS Assistant Principals Dan Weakley and Beth Cunningham be promoted to Head Principal positions within the district.Weakley has served at Liberty Middle School as an assistant principal for the past 3 years. Prior to his tenure in LPS, he was a teacher, assistant principal, and principal in the Raytown School District. In addition, he served in a central office administrative role in the Smithville School District. It's a family affair for the Weakley's in Liberty Public Schools as Dan's wife, Whitney, is also employed by the district. They currently reside in Kearney and have three children.
Beth Cunningham will assume the role of Head Principal at Alexander Doniphan Elementary. She has served the role of Assistant Principal at Alexander Doniphan Elementary and Manor Hill Elementary for the past five years. Prior to coming to the Liberty District, Cunningham was an elementary teacher, teaching in Self-Contained ELL Kindergarten in Kansas City, Missouri, Kindergarten teacher in Sedalia, MO, and a first grade teacher in Warrensburg, MO. She and her husband, Craig, reside in Kearney, MO.
