Looking for some fun and exciting experiences with your daughter? Your daughter wants to hang out more with her friends or meet new friends? Want to explore the world or help others? Come join us! Girl Scouts will be having a recruitment night on February 9 from 6:30 -7:30 p.m. at the Liberty Middle School Commons. News Parent University: Save-the-Date
Parent University is a free event for parents/guardians and students in elementary through high school where, following a complimentary breakfast, speaker sessions will provide valuable information and insight on current family, youth, and community topics and concerns. Participants will not only benefit from the sessions, they will have an opportunity to explore a community resource fair and receive door and raffle prizes. News LPS Maintains AA Bond Rating
Standard & Poor's has maintained the Liberty Public Schools credit rating for general obligation (GO) debt at 'AA' based on strong financial indicators, including participation in the diverse Kansas City, Missouri metropolitan area economy, steady growth in student enrollment, and strong general fund reserves, as measured on a cash basis of accounting. This rating puts Liberty Public Schools in the top 15 school districts in the state of Missouri.

News Six File for April School Board Election
A total of six candidates have filed for the Liberty Public Schools Board of Education election that is scheduled for April 3, 2012. Two open seats, currently occupied by Charlene Armitage and Mattie Ransom, will be available. Each seat will be three-year terms. Filing officially closed at 5 p.m. on Tuesday, January 17, 2012. Candidates that will take part in the election include the following (and will appear on the ballot in this order): Charlene Armitage, Mattie Ransom, Becky Anderson-Poitras, Dan Krueger, Bruce Cantwell, and David Evans.

News 2012-2013 Kindergarten Enrollment Information
Enrollment for students who will be entering Kindergarten in Liberty Public Schools for the 2012-2013 school year began January 3 and will continue through March 26. You can enroll your child at the Student Enrollment/Welcome Center, located at the District Administration Center (650 Conistor Street, Liberty). Enrollment times will be 7 a.m. - 4 p.m. Monday - Friday. If you have any questions, please call 816-736-5310.
News Junior Highs to Host Parent Enrollment Nights
Both Liberty Junior High and South Valley Junior High will be hosting Parent Enrollment nights. Below is detailed information for each building. South Valley Junior High will host a Parent Enrollment Night for parents of next year's 8th grade students on Tuesday, January 24. The event will start at 6:30 p.m. and be held in the South Valley Junior High commons. South Valley Junior High will host a Parent Enrollment Night for parents of next year's 9th grade students on Thursday, January 26. The event will also start at 6:30 p.m. and be held in the South Valley Junior High commons. For more information, contact South Valley Junior High (736-7300) or SVJH counselors Bill Scott (8th grade 2012-2013) and Taylor Barker (9th grade 2012-2013). Liberty Jr. High School will be hosting its Parent Enrollment Information Night on Tuesday, January 24, in the LJHS auditorium. Incoming 8th grade parents will meet from 6 - 7 p.m. Incoming 9th grade parents will meet from 7:30 - 8:30 p.m. This is strictly an informational night to help parents understand course choices and opportunities. Enrollment forms will not be collected at this time. Due to space restrictions, students are not expected to attend. News Grade Configuration Changes Set for August 2013
At the December 19, 2011 Board of Education meeting, Superintendent Mike Brewer and district officials received permission from the LPS Board of Education to move forward with a plan to make grade configuration changes at the middle and high school levels beginning in August 2013.
