Dear QuickNews Subscriber,
You are receiving this message, because you elected to receive QuickNews by email from the Liberty Public Schools.
We are writing to notify you that our school district recently received a request under the Missouri Sunshine Act ("the Act") from a community member, Mr. William Walker. Mr. Walker formally requested "an electronic copy of the email addresses of QuickNews subscribers." Because this list is considered to be a public document under the Act, we are required by law to provide it to Mr. Walker.
When our School District created QuickNews, we did so with the intention that it would solely be used to update those who chose to receive such emails regarding school district events and other official school district information. We did not intend for QuickNews to be used as a device for non-school district individuals or vendors to send you information of their choosing.
We do not know the purpose for which Mr. Walker will use your email address. However, please know that if he chooses to send you emails, you are under no obligation to receive any email from him. His emails are not approved by our school district. Any content is solely attributable to Mr. Walker.
