This morning around 8:30 a.m., two transformers in the neighborhood near Manor Hill Elementary School blew causing a flash of light and a loud bang. Students were arriving at school at the time of the incident, but no students were ever in any danger. Aquila arrived on the scene immediately to fix the problem. The school was without power for approximately 50 minutes, but power has since been restored.
The district, as well as each school, has a crisis plan that goes into effect immediately when there is an incident. The crisis plan worked, and the staff at Manor Hill was exceptional in how it handled the situation. It is business as usual at Manor Hill.
