At a surprise, stand-up meeting held in the conference room at the Support Services Building, it was announced that Mr. Marion Hunerdosse is the 2017-2018 LPS Support Employee of the Year.
Mr. Hunerdosse has been a loyal Liberty Public Schools employee, serving in the transportation department since January 1985. His duties in the department have ranged from not only a route driver, but also a driver trainer and licensed 3rd party examiner for the Missouri State Highway Patrol to issue new commercial driver’s licenses to drivers. Following a stint as Assistant Transportation Director in 2001-2002, Hunerdosse returned to driving bus routes, a position he still holds today as he safely transports special needs students.
“Marion is a man of great integrity and leads by example,” said LPS Director of Transportation Ono Monachino. “He genuinely cares about the students he transports, their parents, and the people he works with. I think he epitomizes everything the Support Employee of the Year is about.”
Away from the transportation office and bus, Hunerdosse keeps himself extremely busy. He is also a pastor at Flack Memorial Christian Union Church in Excelsior Springs, MO.
It’s also a family affair for the Hunderdosse’s in Liberty Public Schools, as his wife, Gail, is a long-time administrative assistant at Alexander Doniphan Elementary.
This is the seventh year of the Support Employee of the Year program, which was introduced as a way to recognize the outstanding work by LPS support staff. A listing of previous LPS Support Employee of the Year recipients is provided below.
