Confidentiality

Health information about students given to the Registered Nurse is confidential. Occasionally, it may be necessary for teachers, counselors or administration to be informed of a student’s situations to help promote optimal educational opportunities for a student. This may also be necessary in the event of an emergency or situation that a student may require medical attention.

Goals of the Health Room

  • Provide first aide and emergency care for students and staff.
  • Monitoring student immunization compliance and exclude students if immunization requirements are not met according to the State of Missouri requirements in a timely manner.
  • Promote and control communicable diseases by monitoring its presence in the early stages and excluding individuals that present specific signs and symptoms.
  • Promote wellness of students through vision and hearing screenings, scoliosis screening, individual counseling and referrals on an as need basis.
  • Assist students with special health needs to be able to control their own health condition in a way that it optimizes their efforts to succeed in school.
