| If
you would like to read or listen to some of the interesting things in
happening in Mr. Langhorst’s classroom, check out his blog or his
podcast.
What is a
BLOG?
What is a
PODCAST?
- A podcast is an
audio program made available to listeners via the Internet or through
a subscription service like i-Tunes. Mr. Langhorst’s podcast can
be heard directly though the Internet or by download to an MP3 player..
What is a
STUDYCAST?
- A StudyCast is
a review session for a unit test that Mr. Langhorst has created to help
students study. It is basically a review of all the important material
a student is required to know for the test. A StudyCast can be heard
through the Internet or downloaded to an MP3 player.
How do I read
Mr. Langhorst’s blog and/or listen to the podcast?
- Mr. Langhorst’s
blog and podcast can be found at www.speakingofhistory.blogspot.com
Once you access the page you can click on the direct link to listen
through the speakers in your computer or right click to download as
an MP3 file. If you use i-Tunes just do a search for "Speaking
of History" and you can subscribe and download for free through
the music store. There is no cost for downloading or listening to the
podcast.
What does
Mr. Langhorst use to record his podcast?
- You don't need
an i-pod or even an MP3 player to record a podcast - you can do it with
a cheap microphone and your computer. Mr. Langhorst uses an i-River
iFP-895 MP3 player to record his podcasts because it is small and
portable with an internal microphone which works well for on the run
interviews and opportunities to catch some quality content.
