Hello parents. I hope that his webpage will increase our communication about what is happening in the classroom and allow you to share in your child's educational experience here at South Valley Jr High.

If you leave a voice mail I will make every attempt to answer it within 24 hours. The easiest way to reach me is through e-mail since I can access it from school and/or home at different times of the day.

Please let me know if you would like to be involved with a specific project or have a degree of expertise that would enhance an activity we are working with in our curriculum. I encourage you at ask your child questions about what we are studying in class. Through the year there will be numerous activites outside of the classroom in which you can participate, including Saturday morning history walks in Liberty.

This Week in Class - This site is updated each week with a full lesson plan of the activites and assignments for the upcoming week. Also included at his site are any items of note - an interesting web site we are using in class, an upcoming historical activity in the Liberty area, articles, etc.

StudyCasts - A StudyCast is an audio review for an upcoming test which can be listened to on your computer through the Internet of downloaded to an MP3 player. This concept was used throughout the 2005/2006 school year and was used by many students to study.

Parent Connect - Sign up with the office to be given your password and you can check your child's grades online. This web site gives you access to my gradebook through the Internet.

Liberty Quick News - Have news about the Liberty Public Schools sent to your e-mail when it happens. Sign up at this site.

Speaking of History Podcast - Mr. Langhorst produces a podcast in which he discusses technology, education and history. You can listen through the Internet and the speakers on your computer or you can download to an MP3 player. Visits to museums around the country and interviews with historians are included with some episodes.
