Microbiology Course Description

 

         The Microbiology course is a semester-long course designed to help students understand how microorganisms live and their importance to humans. Topics to be covered will include taxonomy, biochemistry, and cell biology.  In addition, the lab component of the course will provide students with the opportunity to learn basic aseptic techniques, microscopy, and clinical identification of pathogenic microorganisms.  The course will end with a study in genetics and biotechnology and its effects on global society.
